When will federal employees get a pay increase?

Millions of federal employees will receive an average 5.2% pay raise effective January, thanks to an executive order issued by the President on Thursday. It’s the largest base pay increase since the Carter administration nearly 40 years ago. The order finalized on Dec. 21 matches the pay proposal Joe Biden made in late August.

How many pay raise percentages do federal employees get?

With the addition of four new locality pay areas, there are now 58 different pay raise percentages feds can receive, based on their location. The actual raises for the four new locality pay areas are: Federal employees working in the national capital region will receive a 5.31% raise.

When does the 2024 federal pay raise take effect?
